MEMORIAL & FUNERAL PHOTOGRAPHY

My heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I’m truly sorry for your loss. During times like these, words often fall short — but please know that I’m here to serve you with compassion and care.

Nearly two years ago, someone in my own family passed away, and I was asked to photograph the viewing, funeral service, and interment. At that time, I wasn’t yet a professional photographer — just a family member with a camera, doing my best to preserve moments for those who couldn’t see through their tears.

The photos weren’t perfect. They were dark and unpolished. But several months later, his wife shared how deeply grateful she was for those images — how they brought her comfort and helped her heal. She said the album allowed her to see the flowers, the faces, and the gestures of love she hadn’t been able to take in that day.

Her words touched me deeply and opened my eyes to something I hadn’t realized before: photographs can be part of the healing process.

That experience inspired me to offer Funeral and Memorial Photography as part of my services — to gently and thoughtfully capture the love, connection, and remembrance that surround a family during such a tender time.

Celebrate Life with Memorial Photography

It is always an emotional time when a loved one passes away. For those closest to the deceased, it is also a stressful time filled with decisions and arrangements that must be made. In the rush of it all, it can be hard to process the many interactions with family and friends who come to express their condolences. When everything is over, you may not even remember everyone who was there.

Sadly, a funeral is sometimes the only time distant family and friends gather again. In the days and weeks that follow, you may find it healing to look back on these images and remember the love, connection, and kindness that surrounded you.

Having thoughtful, high-quality photos of the ceremony and related events can offer comfort — providing lasting images of those who came to support you and your family in a difficult time. It is also another way to honor your loved one, capturing the life, love, and moments that celebrated who they were and the impact they had on those around them.

Providing Careful, Respectful Funeral Photography

With humility and care, I approach each service in a supportive and unobtrusive manner:

  • I document with discretion and respect, staying quietly in the background whenever possible.
  • I never use a flash on my camera, ensuring I do not draw attention or interrupt the ceremony.
  • I use a zoom or telephoto lens to capture candid moments without intruding.
  • Family portraits will be taken as requested by the family.
  • If a family member or guest prefers not to be photographed, I will always honor that request.
  • I coordinate with officiants, follow venue or religious guidelines, and dress appropriately to maintain dignity and respect at all times.
  • You will receive a curated gallery of images that reflects both the full event and the meaningful details.
  • All images are handled with the utmost privacy and compassion and will never be shared publicly without your permission.
  • If you wish, I can also provide prints or a keepsake album for your family (available for an additional charge).
